What's Under the Hood of the World’s Most Robust IP Management System?
Let us show you.
When we started IPfolio in 2011, we completely rethought how to change IP management.
We wanted to build a product for the most demanding companies in the world. We wanted an insanely flexible product that could evolve and bend and pivot with our customers as their business needs and IP processes evolved. We wanted to build a product that was the most reliable and secure on the planet. And, notwithstanding these wants, we also wanted it to be really, really simple to use.
By developing on Force.com, we made them reality.
For our customers, developing on Force.com means:
- Faster coding and development of new features
- The ability to administer the software and make important changes—without our permission or support
- No mess with upgrades. Everything happens seamlessly in the background
- No hidden charges or gotchas
- No infrastructure, security or IT headaches; everything’s all in the cloud
What is Force.com?
While most people think of Salesforce.com as a cloud-based CRM (customer relationship management) application, the company also has a cloud-based application hosting platform called Force.com. Force.com enables developers to create and deploy applications leveraging core functionality provided by Salesforce.com, such as Chatter, workflows, business processes, mobile software development kits, communities, and real-time hierarchical reporting. Salesforce.com licenses the underlying code (so to speak) of its platform to developers like IPfolio. This gives us the software advantages of the largest cloud company in the world.
Available. Secure. Flexible.
You can't build a multi-billion dollar business on the premise of cloud-hosted software without dependable uptime and reliability. A key source of Salesforce's high availability has been its MirrorForce infrastructure, which includes fully mirrored data centers and tape archives.
- Multi-level data replication within and between facilities
- Seamless disaster recovery
- Carrier neutral network traffic
- Elimination of single points of failure
- Reduction in external exposure
- Real time fail-over
- Point to multi-point replication
- Disk-to-disk-to-tape backup
When needed -- whether due to a major outage, hardware failure, or network connectivity interruption -- Salesforce will transfer your traffic to one of its redundant data centers. Your IPfolio application will be accessible again as soon as the DNS changes propagate. This real-time mirroring minimizes data loss to brief seconds of information."What's Salesforce's current status?
In addition to ensuring that the engineering team developing IPfolio follows industry best practices in areas such as IT security, IPfolio also subjects the production application to a variety of external and internal security tests.
As a Salesforce Innovation Partner and participant in the Force.com Embedded Partner Program, we submit our application to a variety of security tests, including regular security scans by Salesforce. These vulnerability scans, in particular, are iterative; should scans reveal any vulnerabilities, they will continue as the IPfolio development team addresses the identified issues.
The application also undergoes other mandatory and regular security-centric evaluation, such as the Salesforce Security Review. Salesforce developed the Security Review to assess the security posture of partner offerings and ensure that applications published on the AppExchange follow industry best practices for security.

What's the cost to get from what you have to what you want?
Configuring IPfolio is quicker and more painless than anything else you're considering. It distinguishes us in the industry and is something you'll really appreciate during initial implementation, and later when your IP processes undoubtedly evolve.
Customizing your IPfolio implementation will not necessitate an expensive software engineering project to change code. The beauty of having developed on Force.com is that customization means configuration. By checking boxes and connecting APIs, we’ll give you exactly what you want without breaking your budget or your trust.
When speaking with other IP Management system vendors, make sure to ask them how they’re going to transform their default configuration to exactly what you want. What does the implementation path look like? How much will it cost? How long will it take?
"The flexibility afforded by IPfolio really let us fine-tune it to get exactly what we wanted."Cheryl Wilder Senior Intellectual Property Paralegal Sophos
Can you sleep while updating and upgrading your IP management software? Can you still work on the production site, or do you have to plan downtime and work over long weekends?
Upgrades are an unavoidable reality of software implementations, but the difference between upgrading a heavy on-premises application and upgrading IPfolio is massive. It's the contrast between lots of stress vs. lunch with your team, or watching your kid's soccer team on a Saturday morning as an unfortunate IP team that didn't select IPfolio is frustrated in their office trying to debug the latest release from a different vendor.
We update and upgrade IPfolio for you. We'll notify you of the dates but you typically won't have to do anything. It's really that simple.
Salesforce is one of the largest, most successful and most well reviewed software companies on the planet.
AppExchange is Salesforce.com's cloud computing marketplace. With more than 3,000 B2B apps and 5.4M installs, it's one of the world's leading business software ecosystems. After millions of installs, and tens of thousands of customer reviews (including praise for IPfolio), AppExchange has proven itself a reliable source of apps powering critical business functions.
Force.com is Salesforce's cloud-based platform that enables developers to create and deploy applications leveraging Salesforce's core functionality. Since IPfolio launched in 2012, our application has run on Force.com and adhered to Salesforce's SDLC requirements and process.
You do not have to be a Salesforce customer to deploy IPfolio in your organization. While many of our customers subscribe to a variety of Salesforce applications, from Salesforce CRM and Chatter to Pardot Marketing Automation and Quip, some do not use any.
Built on the world’s most trusted cloud platform for businesses
