Celebrity Inventions and Patents – Who Knew?

Things have been happily hectic lately at IPfolio, as we work on some exciting new partnerships and wrapped up a successful week-long conference at TechConnect World in Santa Clara. Taking a quick breather we wanted to share some lighter intellectual property reading with this fun list that Wired Magazine has put together. 19 Patents Invented by Ingenious Celebrities summarizes exactly what it promises, a list of inventions that have been successfully patented by celebrities.

Here’s one to whet your appetite – which celebrity invented this new form of bucket seat featured below?

The inventions really run the gamut – from Marlon Brando and Jamie Lee Curtis to Neil Young and Houdini, these patented ideas are often in similar veins to their professions, and therefore not such a surprise. But famed supermodel Christie Brinkley as the inventor and patent owner of an education toy was certainly unexpected, as are a few other gems you’ll read about. Enjoy, and if you have any other surprising inventor/invention pairings, please share in the comments!
